There are cards in the Hardware category and the Software category,eg. most cards use the software drivers to do the work which uses the processing power of the CPU these are Software cards. Other cards (more expensive) do the hard work thats needed from the card themselves, allowing much less usage of the CPU, while doing there work.

After successfully using KnoppMyth it crashed after a power failure, after rebooting, it was no go no more, being an Ubuntu user on my desktop, I thought it was time to do the MythTV thing with Ubuntu on the Media PC.
